Silvia Felix lives and works in Zug and Mallorca. She started sculpturing in 2007 with marble and found her passion with soapstone in 2011. Since then she dedicates most of her time unveiling the essential beauty within a seemingly dead substance.
“To add nothing and yet change everything, that is alchemy to me. I am fascinated by the transformation of the raw, often unnoticed stone into a completely new form that, in its source, has been hiding for thousands of years. The inner beauty that reveals itself through pure attention mirrors its essence to mankind.”
The sculpture in its completed form is the result of a constant communication. “I never know what the sculpture should look like at the end. We create it together”, she says. The wisdom she receives during this interaction accompanies the artwork as a poem. They build a bridge between the heart receiving the artwork as a being and the mind that wants to understand the message.
With her work she aims to bring beauty and wisdom into this world adding nothing but attention and love.
