Text Box: Marianne Huber Donati

Marianne Huber Donati was born in Basel. Fifteen years ago she moved to Ticino where in 2007 she built her own artist’s studio. Here in the south she found the light and shadow she so longed for, subsequently able to inspire her work by observing the ever changing countryside during the magical twilight hours of early morning and late evening. These moments remain

eternally in her minds eye and at the same time she may capture it with her camera to transport the scene at some point on to large canvases.

Marianne is autodidact, developing her natural talent by taking annual classes with Carlo Pizzicchini a resptected professor at the Brera Milano and also often attending courses at the Art Academy at Bad Reichenhall by Elvira Bach, Markus Lüpertz, Rainer Kaiser, Georg Fenkl and Jupp Linsen. This allows her to broaden her horizon and experiment with various techniques at the same time.

Her style however remains stubbornly her own and her love of the interaction with darker and warm colours is ever present.
